‘Walk in my shoes’ is the theme of this year’s festival, which runs from 1 to 24 October. The annual event aims to celebrate diversity and increase understanding of positive mental wellbeing through the arts and drama, and all events are low cost or no cost.
One such event is a display of artworks at Barrhead Health & Social Care Centre.
Sat 6 – Wed 31 Oct
9am – 5pm daily – Free entry
At a time when many people have given up the day job these professional artists are continuing to produce wonderful artworks. Retirement is often a time of renewed creativity and engagement for artists. With the constraints of the nine to five gone, there is the opportunity to re-enter the art world with new vigour. Most of the artists displayed here have had regular jobs of various types and are now enjoying having the time to spend on their real job.
Come and enjoy the works on display and perhaps be tempted to join one of our local art classes.
